History Lesson:
When I look back on the grand days of my youth I am always brought back to the good times I had at Dice. It was a simple time. No need for a special occasion or RSVP. It was known that every Saturday and Sunday you could always meet up with a few players and get in a days worth of pickup games. From new players with clear guns to older players it was a diverse crowd of people all gathered because they loved playing the sport.
In recent years Dice is left empty and player-less, excluding a certain group who shows up once in a blue moon. It makes me sad that such a great example of a perfect field, despite legality issues, is being wasted on the transient population instead of being used by our fellow airsofters. In attempts to protect our sport we have ultimately damaged an entire community by shunning and defaming the practice of rogue airsofting. Very members of the Simi/Moorpark community have turned against each other choosing sides of who's right and who's wrong, myself not excluded. What it really comes down to is a simple truth: We just want to play airsoft in the funnest environment possible.
So now that you are brought up to speed...
What is Dice?
We would like to extend you all an invitation to come play with us at Dice. To those of you who don't know what Dice is or maybe you just forgot I'll explain for you. Picture the wash that runs between Simi Valley and Moorpark. Acres of relatively flat wilderness sporting lush green bushes, towering bamboo, and trees able to support the weight of a grown man with the always running river right through the center of it. Now for the fun part...
What we expect from you the player:
As we have stated this is an invitation to come play. We hold no ownership of this land and thus we will hold no player under any authority. We are simply showing you an amazing field. How you conduct yourself at said field is completely your responsibility. You are not in charge of other players. You hold no right to tell other players what to do and where to do it. If at any moment you feel uncomfortable or unsafe your are completely free to leave. No one is forcing your participation. Understand that showing up is not a right to play with any group playing at the field. You must respect that some players might not want you to participate in their games and you must be able to give such players space to conduct themselves. I for one will not turn you down unless I find you damaging to my fun time. There is no fps limit at this field, please be prepared for that. All groups that play might play with different rules of engagement(surrender rules, respawn rules, boundary rules, ect..) be sure to understand those rules before you participate with new groups of players.
Parking?
The parking situation is the biggest challenge of playing at Dice. In the past players could park along the road at the entrance. Now there are tons of no parking signs. We currently know of two different places to park and get into dice that work perfectly, but I will not post them here.
How do I accept your invitation?
